We performed a post explosion engine autopsy on a ford 3.0 diesel V6. This engine is also found in Range Rovers. We found damage on almost every internal component. The tear down to determine the original point of failure and full disassembly is necessary due to the amount of destruction found within. It started with the a hole in the engine block and we quickly identified a broken connecting rod smashed through the side of the block and the oil pan. Massive piston damage was later discovered as well as damage to the camshafts, valves and cylinder heads.
