British young gun George Russell has taken a giant leap towards a 2022 Silver Arrows seat following an astonishing drive in last weekend’s Sakhir Grand Prix on Bahrain’s flat-out Outer Track.

… in which he proved his world champion calibre, despite finishing ninth - a botched “double-stacked” pit stop, and excruciating late-race puncture, twice costing him the maiden win he looked on-course to secure in style, the Brit dominant from the opening lap.
