The ministry of sports has refuted claims that this year’s safari rally which was integrated back to the world rally calendar has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic
The rally was scheduled for July 16th to the 19th. According to a statement by the ministry of sports, the Sports Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Amina Mohammed, the Kenya Motorsports Federation Chief Executive Officer Phineas Kimathi and world rally championship officials have been in consultations to determine the fate of the 7th stop of the WRC, which makes a return after a lengthy hiatus. If the pandemic continues to ravage the country and the rest of the world it's highly unlikely the event will be held after the WRC postponed the rally in Argentina, Portugal and Italy due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
